We are many, very many, currently about 100 roommates in the cool WG, so we do not list all our names now. We are ants and belong to the genus "Tetramorium bicarinatum". We would like to tell you some facts about us that might surprise you. There are more than 12,000 species of us and we are spread all over the world, even in the Arctic Circle there are relatives of us. Our buddies the desert ants hold the speed record at 1 meter per second. Each ant colony has a queen, and only she is responsible for the offspring. The smallest ants that exist are only 1 millimeter long and the largest can grow up to 7 centimeters. The largest ant colony lives along the Italian Riviera coast and is 5760 kilometers long. We are super strong and can carry pieces of leaves weighing up to ten times our body weight. Amazing what cool creatures we are, aren't we? Come and visit us in Kirchheim and watch us at work.
