Vamos Algeciras

Last Saturday, the DORMERO Group signed a hotel at the southern end of Europe in Algeciras near Gibraltar, marking the start of a far-reaching expansion into Spain.
The hotel will be built by 2025 with 160 rooms right next to the port terminal of Algeciras, one of the largest and most important cargo ports in the world. The city of Algeciras, with a population of 122,000, is also considered the gateway to Africa and relies heavily on European/African border traffic.

Great anticipation at DORMERO

"The fact that we were awarded the contract in such an exposed location fills us with pride. There were major competitors in the running, but in the end our vision of a liberal, cosmopolitan culture was the best fit for this location," says CEO Michael Hartmut Berger.

"The uniqueness of this location is its multifaceted mix. There is hardly any other location in the world that combines so much. An economic metropolis paired with the proximity to Morocco, neighboring Gibraltar and the beauty of Andalusia with Marbella and Málaga. The whole area is the most important tourist destination on the Iberian Peninsula," continues Berger.

The landlord REAL ESTATES EXPRES SUN SL, represented by Oliver Lange, is looking forward to the collaboration: "DORMERO was our favorite from the very beginning due to its freshness. We are delighted that DORMERO has also supported our design of a Mediterranean flair in North African style. The hotel will have a USP with its rooftop bar and pool with a view of the Monkey Rock, which alone makes it worth traveling there."
